Description
A Barred Owl (Strix varia) perched in a poplar tree waiting for its pray to show itself. The snow covered spruce trees offer it some cover however as soon as one animal n notices the forest becomes noisy as the smaller animals sound an alarm. This owl was photographed in Northern Michigan's Oscoda county on the edge of the Huron National Forest.
