Description
A pair of Mourning Doves (Zenaida macroura) perched together in a maple tree in early spring in Northern Michigan. These beautiful birds get their name due to the mournful sound of their cooing. They are a ground feeding upland game bird that eat mostly seeds. These birds are also referred to as rain doves, morning doves, Carolina pigeon and and some times in error as a turtle dove.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of an amazing work
