The silhouette of dead cedar trees leaning out over the frozen waters of McCollum Lake on a foggy winter morning. This is in the McCollum State Park in the Northern Michigan county of Oscoda.

Michael has had a fascination with photography since childhood, however, later in life it has become a more important aspect of his life. He sees photography as a means to bring the beauty of creation to other people. Life is too valuable and precious to him to just let it pass by. Michael and his wife, Suzanne live in Northern Michigan in a log home on their flower and berry farm. Much of his wildlife photography comes off the farm or location close by it.
