This birthday card image is also available as a print without the words, just search this portfolio for the title "Yellow Blend". A lovely close up of the soft yellow peddles of a rose. Long associated with love and beauty, the Romans associated them with their goddesses Aphrodite and Venus. In ancient Rome a rose placed upon a door would indicate that confidential or secret matters were being discussed, thus the phrase sub rosa translated under the rose.

Michael has had a fascination with photography since childhood, however, later in life it has become a more important aspect of his life. He sees photography as a means to bring the beauty of creation to other people. Life is too valuable and precious to him to just let it pass by. Michael and his wife, Suzanne live in Northern Michigan in a log home on their flower and berry farm. Much of his wildlife photography comes off the farm or location close by it.
