Bright White Water Lilies along the shoreline are an inviting sight on this Northern Michigan Lake. These water lilies require calm waters as their leaves and flowers float on top the water and their roots or lake tubers grow in the soft lake bottom. The tubers are eaten by animals such as muskrats and I have watched deer feed upon the floating portions of the lily pads,
